Dr.Siddhartha Chakravarthy is currently a consultant Endocrine and Breast Onco-Surgeon at Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills. He completed his MCh in Endocrine and Breast surgery at the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore. He worked as a consultant in the department of Endocrine & Breast Surgery, CMC Vellore, and has extensive experience in performing thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and breast surgeries. He specializes in minimally invasive procedures including scarless thyroidectomy (TOETVA) and retroperitonioscopic adrenalectomy. He has numerous publications and has presented papers in various national and international forums. He has undergone training at reputed international centres in Sydney, Seoul and Bangkok.

Clinical Experience

Dr.Siddhartha worked as a Consultant in the Endocrine and Breast Surgery unit at Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore. CMC&H, Vellore is a 2000-bedded tertiary care teaching hospital in South India. It has consistently been ranked among the top institutes in the country for patient care, as well as for academic and research activities.

The unit is one of the reputed departments in this field in the country. It consists of four consultants  threeMCh trainees and  one or two MS general surgery post-graduates. His experience included surgeries on the thyroid gland, parathyroid, adrenal gland, extra-adrenal phaeochromocytomas, paragangliomas, endocrine tumours of pancreas and advanced laparoscopic surgeries. Surgeries of the breast included operations for both benign diseases and malignancies of the breast. Dr.Siddhartha has performed  —– thyroid surgeries, —– parathyroid surgeries and ——– breast surgeries during his tenure at this institution.

During his tenure in this unit, Dr.Siddhartha performed general surgical work (both elective and emergency procedures) as well as basic laparoscopic surgeries.

He also performed various kinds of block dissections and composite resections for oral malignancies.

He was also involved with teaching undergraduates, interns as well as postgraduate students.

Christian Mission Hospital is a tertiary level hospital situated in Kerala. As an Assistant Professor, his work included managing a busy outpatient department, operating on a wide variety of elective and emergency general surgical cases.

Seoul National University of Health:  (April – 2016) : Attended a two weeks workshop on Endoscopic (bilateral axilla and breast approach BABA) and Robotic thyroidectomy in Seoul National University Hospital,  Bundang and Samsung Hospital in Seoul Korea.

Police General Hospital Bangkok :Training in transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy from the Dr.Angkoon Anuwong, who is the pioneer in this procedure.
